Mersey Internet is a sole trader company based in South Liverpool, providing cost-effective website creation services for local businesses. Its focus is on producing websites that meet business needs.
Although we can provide custom website design we find that what most businesses want is quick service, high quality and flexibility and we can best provide this by using an existing template based website. The templates we use are provided mostly by Open Source Web Design. We will recommend a couple of designs for you to choose from and will then customise your chosen design to exactly match your business needs.
I'm not just a website designer. My background is in computer programming and IT Security. If you want something a bit more complex than a standard website then I can help. Perhaps you already have a website and now want to add something extra to it such as the ability for your employees to log on and access protected content.
The Barn B & B Based on an existing template design this simple four page website contains some sophisticated features. Namely an interactive Google Map and javascript display of the excellent room photos. I also put a lot of effort into getting the site noticed by registering it with a number of online directories. Jenny the owner was more than pleased with the results. "Hi Mike, it's official - website has now paid for itself!! Getting loads of business via the B+B website that you put us on. Thanks for all your hard work."
CarPriceCentre Based on an open source design this site has custom built php and mysql database tables together with Google Adwords and other advertising. Sophisticated online admin pages allow the client to update all aspects of the car database. An open source package CuteNewsRu provides a quick way to create and maintain the Advice Centre pages.
Merseyside Today This website was produced as a redesign of the original Merseyside Today website. It contains extensive use of php and mysql databases and includes use of Google Adwords and other advertising. A Wordpress Blog, Yabb Forum, Online Games and many other features make this our most complex website to date.
Riverside Gardens This website is based on two of the leading Open Source software packages. SMF for the Forum and Gallery for photo display. It shows how well these packages can be integrated into an existing website design. The "About Us" page demonstrates use of an Interactive Google Map.
Helix Industrial Roofing. This website contains an interesting technique for displaying images on its Gallery page. The technique was described by Stu Nicholls on webreference.com It uses CSS to create the Gallery rather than the usual javascript.
St Charles School. This website uses a wide variety of techniques to present information about the school to visitors of the website.
Javascript is used to enable the large amount of data contained in the school prospectus to be displayed on a single page.
The school Calendar uses a mySQL database and PHP to store and display the school's events. An Admin function allows the school administrator to keep a local copy of these events in an Excel spreadsheet which they simply upload to the website.
St Charles Church. This website provides a basic online presence for the Church, with simple contact details and a downloadable weekly newsletter. As well as creating the website Mersey Internet provided technical support enabling the existing church newsletter, which was produced in Microsoft Word, to be converted to a format suitable for the internet.
A Content Management solution was devised to enable this newsletter to be uploaded to the website and for past newsletters to be renamed and deleted as required.
